Ghana Embassy In Luanda Hosts Welcome Reception In Honour Of Wanderlust Expedition Team From Ghana

A Reception was hosted by the Ghana Embassy in Luanda on Wednesday, 20th November, 2024 at the Chancery of the Embassy to receive the Wanderlust Expedition Team from Ghana.

The milestone event to celebrate the inspiring story of road adventure to showcase the rich cultural diversities and the beautiful landscapes of Africa was attended by select Members of the Diplomatic Community and officials from the host Ministry of External Relations as well as some Members of the Ghanaian Community, the General Public, and the Media.  

The Wanderlust Ghana Group comprising six members embarked on a 30,000-kilometer journey from Accra on 30th September, 2024 through various countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.  The Team arrived in Luanda, Angola from Namibia on Wednesday, 20th November, 2024, to mark 27,000 kilometres out of the total expedition target of 30,000 kilometres. The Group has since its remarkable 10,000-kilometre journey to London in 2023 used its platform to promote Ghana’s tourism, create cultural awareness and exchanges as well as garner support for philanthropic initiatives.

In her remarks, Ambassador Kusorgbor commended the Expedition Team for using their platform to promote cross-border road journeys traversing diverse landscapes across continents, to demonstrate the attraction of open-road adventure and the power of cross-cultural exchanges as well as inspire cultural connections among people of similar and diverse backgrounds. She further celebrated the Team on their achievements so far, and their role in promoting visibility and sharing pieces of Ghanaian identity along the way, whiles sharing pieces of cultures along their route with the world

The Head of Mission encouraged the Team to continue to use their unique platform to raise-high the flag of Ghana, and foster closer cooperation between Ghana and countries on their route as well as promote cultural and touristic interlinkages across Africa.

The Wanderlust Team departed Luanda on Friday, 22nd November, 2024 to continue with their journey through the Democratic Republic of Congo enroute to Accra.
